make normal make larger

Habitat Tuscaloosa is committed to helping within our community and abroad. We partner with Habitat International and affiliates across the country to meet the affordable housing challenge head on.

Habitat’s Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project is an annual, internationally-recognized week of building that brings attention to the need for simple, decent, and affordable housing in partnership with low-income families. The Carter Work Project is held at a different location each year and attracts volunteers from around the world.

This year's project was held in Haiti, where 500 volunteers built 100 safe, decent homes in just 5 days in the Santo Commmunity in Léogâne, the epicenter of the January 2010 earthquake.

Stay tuned for the details of next year's project—the 29th Annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project! And in the meantime, consider volunteering with Habitat in your own backyard.
